First Home Plus

You may be entitled to exemtion for stamp duty if you are purchasing your first home to live in. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to qualify for this benefit.

Building and Pest Reports

No-one should enter a contract before seeking a builsing and pest report from qualified inspectors. Costs vary and it is generally unwise to scimp on the costs for this service because what you need for your protection are quality reports.

Cooling Off

If you decide to exchange contracts with the real estate agent you have five business days to decide whether you want to cancel (rescinf) the Contract. This period can be extended by agreement but you must ensure that yuo have formal approval from your lender before the cooling off period runs out.
